I stepped outside today, and immediately knew that the mood was about to change. The brisk air brushed against my skin, temporarily startling me. You see, for the past few months I’ve been used to the hot and humid weather. I was used to short sleeve shirts, sunglasses, and day parties that engulfed my schedule. However, when that brisk air hit me, I knew that life was just different. In this moment, memories rushed into my head. Feelings consumed my soul. I stopped, paused, and began to reminisce on the significance of the moment.
I remember the start of school. The excitement for a new school year. Either preparing to be the new kid on campus, being an upperclassman, or the senior ready to move on to bigger and better things. I remember the basketball team tryouts, the preparation and the eventual successes and heart breaks when you attempt to realize your hoop dreams. Here in the US, the National pastime started to heat up, and the road to the World Series started to pan out. Meanwhile, the most popular US sport, the NFL, starts its season, and work production in the country decreases due to the rise of Fantasy Football leagues. Overseas, The English Premiere League begins to heat up, as the best in Soccer compete for the top spot.
Back on college campuses, some people get ready for homecoming, while others prepare to embark on a journey of knowledge and will, as they look to join the ranks of the Greek Organization world. The shirts and shorts go away for a few months, as the cardigans, long sleeves, and hoodys reappear. We missed you.
This is just the beginning. We have Thanksgiving to look forward too, along with the madness of Black Friday. We have the start of the NBA season. I smell the clean-cut grass, and recollect on simpler times. Back when life wasn’t so complicated and convoluted. Back when money wasn’t necessary and bills were grown up problems. Your favorite rappers were getting ready for that 4th quarter push, and only classic music would drop.
Libras, Scorpios, and Sagittarius rep for their birthdays. Days are shorter. Nights are colder. The leaves begin their metamorphosis from a strong green to a stern brown, before breaking away from the constraints of tree limbs and slowly descending to the ground. The leaves create a mosaic of beauty and character which serve as the backdrop for this special time of the year.
This is the season where legends are made. This is the season of cool weather, calm feelings, new beginnings and the start of endings.
Welcome to the Fall.

Yes to this post. Its crazy how as you get older your sensory memory gets stronger. Every time I step out I am reminded of Boston and how my campus looks this time of year. Fall will always be the season of school, and not being in school just doesn’t match.
oh, and you forgot Capricorns
I love the Fall. Its the most wonderful time of the year.
Ill post!
Yes indeed, fall time is what it’s about. I too often get quite nostalgic this time of the year.
Whether its during a Saturday full of classic college football games taking me
down memory lane, celebrating my September 6th birthday (hey girl come
and chill with the Virgo….word to Nas), helping nephews and nieces adjust to the demands
of a new school year or catching season premiers, the fall does it to me.
Such an inspirational time of the year.
By far the most inspirational time
