#30in30 Day 12: Random Saturday Thoughts

12 days into this #30in30 blog challenge and I haven’t missed a day! I’m very proud of myself. I’m busy and cherish my down time, but being prepared and focused has helped me over these couple of weeks. I don’t worry about page views and blog hits, I just worry about the content. I want you to get a grasp into my writing, my mind, and my personality, through these words. That’s been my main goal and it’s worked. Writing for SBM and my other site contributions, it gets tedious at times. We write about topics our readers want to read, but it might not appeal to us all the time. Then we have to deal with personal deadlines, running other aspects of the sites, and our normal lives. Needless to say, it’s important to us and we treat it with care. It mentally fatigues me at times. That’s why I’m glad I’m doing this challenge. It’s refreshed my writing love and it’s given my mind some ease. Also, since I dictate the pace here, the pressure is non-existent.

Although I say I don’t care about who reads, I do. yes, it’s a contradiction. I write these blogs and think they are dope, but I don’t see the feedback much in the comments. So I wonder are people reading , or am I typing to myself? I’m more concerned about those that have been reading my stuff since day 1. I know most people probably abandoned ship after my hiatus, but if you see this, thank you for supporting me and I hope you catch me during this challenge and in the future. For those new to Streetztalk, I welcome you and hope you have a good time here!

I only have 5 teams for fantasy football this year. 3 paid and 2 for fun. Naturally, the paid leagues are more important to me. I went 2-1 in the pay leagues this week. Good start. One league I’m hoping some early draft blunders don’t come back to bite me in the ass. This year, I tried to draft the same players across all leagues and was mildly successful. It makes things easier and I don’t find myself rooting against myself. I think I have a great shot to win at least 2 of these leagues. I finally won last year after losing in like 4 championship games over my 6 years of playing in multiple fantasy leagues. I was like the Bills for a second, smh.

During this #30in30, I’ve come up with so many ideas , that I have over 30 days worth of blog material! This is awesome. I definitely shouldn’t miss days unless circumstances arise.

I bought the iPhone earpods. Will do a review this week and let you know what I think.

#NikeFootballSociety Game 2 is tomorrow at 11am. Focused aint the word. I’m playing starting corner back and wide receiver (as a sub). This reignited my love for playing football too. Expect a blog on that soon too.

Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad. These are the shows I need to start watching according to my friends. Dexter is almost over unfortunately, but the others I can catch in time. I have a busy year ahead of me, huh?

Finally getting to play Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. My first impressions? It’s amazing. Nintendo makes the best games..for Nintendo systems.

COD Black Ops 2, NBA 2k13, and possibly Madden 13 are on the radar. I have to beat the first Black Ops though. Heard the ending is sick.

Did my final assessment for my 14 week challenge and I’m pleased with the results. I’ll share this week too.

That’s all. Enjoy your Saturday!

  1. I have a confession; I have a blog.. that i let die. Im guilty of blog-culpable homicide through my negligent behaviour aka laziness. I got caught up in the whole hits and counters business, plus my overall goal for the blog was to turn it into a money tool via adverts, but i figured if i cant get people to even visit; how am i going to get paid???? *best Martin Lawrence face*

I have not abandoned writing though, I am still writing in my note pad; im old school like that. I like scratching stuff out, underlining 20 time for emphasis and just trying to improve my handwriting/ cursive because my secretary constantly complains!! Anyway, im inspired by the 30 in 30 challenge, and my personal challenge is to read the posts everyday and eventually write my own next year. Id love to say ill do it this year-but my personal challenge until end of the year is to write an article to be published in the professional journals/ periodicals.

Random: Tamia’s new album “Beautiful Surprise” has been on repeat for the past 3 weeks. I listen to it twice a day, everyday.
I’m also listening to “Kiss the ring”- DJ Khaled, its dope- i like the track by Kanye and Ross “I wish you would”..but i dont listen to that everyday- Id get too aggressive at work and in traffic.
