[FITNESS] Workout Log: The P90X-perience Day 1

Operation: Summer Sexy has officially ended. I can say that I made great gains and I hope that you did the same. It’s been 3 years since I decided to start working out seriously, and my health (mind, body, and soul) have never been better! I learned a lot about my body, and my endurance. The most important thing I learned is that my body reacts to sudden shocks of the system i.e. switching up different workouts. So when my brother Horace suggested P90X, a program I was familiar with from the infomercials, I was hesitant. I love going to the gym and didn’t want to relegate myself to home workouts. he then sent me a before and after pic of one of his peoples and I was sold! So yesterday began Day 1 of the P90x saga. I learned yet another lesson after my workout: “Be careful what you wish for, you just.might.get.IT!”

The Chest/Back workout and AB workout made me feel like I never worked out in my life. The way they switched up exercises in circuit form keeps your body guessing and keeps you active throughout. I was sweating like Patrick Ewing. On twitter people caught some of my comments cursing all things fitness for forsaking me, but I loved it! Tony, the instructor, is one of the best motivators I’ve seen. He let’s you know the workouts are difficult, but you will succeed. I left that workout sweating, arms shaking, nauseous, and motivated all at once. It put me through hell, but I felt the difference

I know this workout is serious because as I type I’m 100% SHOOK of playing that next video, lol. My body really said to me “I wish a MF would!” hahahaa! Along with my nutrition plan, I’m looking to make major gains over this 3 month period, and as always, I’ll document it.

Continue to strive for your goals. Don’t let me quit (although with all this press I highly doubt I will). Let’s get healthier and fit for that Summer/Winter body, lol.

    P90X is the best thing out. I went thru it last year from the end of Spring thru the Summer and it was easily the best shape I've ever been in. I think I may run thru it again starting in Sept. then try out the P90X Plus program.

    What I did, since I like hitting the actual gym too, I viewed the videos so I knew what each workout was. Then I took the worksheets with me to the gym and did the weight lighting exercises/pull ups/push ups at the gym.

    P90X is great, Chest and back is "pain", I went all out and then when Tony says we are going to do the whole thing again…AHHH! Anyways keep at it!
