What’s good everyone,
As you know, I’m big on personal health and working out. I wrote some previous articles on getting in better shape and focusing on your goals. I know it can be hard to work towards them, so I’m going to update you on my personal progress and hope that we can motivate each other to reach our goals.
Right now my current goal is to get my body right by May 8th, 2009. I’m in the “get over the hump” stage, so I’m grinding out heavy. Here are my current stats
Week 3 Weight – 195.2
Week 4 Weight - 194.0
Difference Weekly - 1.2 lbs lost
Difference to date: 6.3 lbs lost
Target Weight – 185
Weight Training Expected – 3
Weight Training Actual -3
Cardio/Abs Training Expected – 6
Cardio/Abs Training Actual – 3
With the Easter holiday looming, and my body suffering first rounds of exhaustion, this proved to be a challenging week. I hit the wall and with work and pushing myself the previous weeks, I had to rest. My body told me it needed a recharge and I had to oblige. Working yourself through major fatigue can work against your body, lead to injury, and hinder your progress. I switched up my lifting exercises and I now perform new weight training exercises and different combinations on different days. I also re-incorporated swimming into my routine for cardio. Swimming is an excellent total body cardio workout! I need to get better at it, but make no mistake that when I leave the pool I feel invigorated and exhausted!
I didn’t do the 5 times cardio I wanted to, still ate well, and lost 1.2 pounds. My metabolism is revved up and I need to keep it going. My projected weight loss after 5 weeks was 10 lbs, but 6 will do. i want to reach 185 at the end of my 8 weeks, but right now Vegas has me at 189 and the over. I think I can beat those odds. I will be swimming every day this week but Saturday, adding a separate cardio workout (running, stairmaster, row machine, cardio) to my workouts on non-lift days. I’m also doing a pull up, abs, pushup routine on my non work days too. I’m going to go tuff at it this week to see if I can stimulate my goal of 2lbs lost per week. 9 lbs in 3 weeks may be unhealthy/tough, but I’m aiming for 6-7 after week 8 and going in for those last 2 in the final week (overtime!).
My focus remains throughout this endeavor. Thank you for everyone motivating me to reach this goal. I set this goal to regulate my weight, and try my best to get close to the last weight where by medical and physical standards I was at my peak. I also wanted to drop weight to build back up into muscle. I won’t lose my focus and this goal will be achieved. lets stay focused and reach this goal together. Beach season returns to the East Coast in a month. Get Ready!!

I'm so proud of you in your goal to loosing wait and becoming more fit. What I like most about your goal is that its realistic. You're not trying to loose 50 lbs in 2 weeks or something. You have very reasonable goals and I know that you will reach your goals. Keep up the great work and effort!!!

thanks Ros!! I appreciate it!
It's all about knowing when and what to eat, and the amount of rest.
Cool program, though.
I went from 193 to 185 (from December to now).
Peace
