Operation Summer Sexy: Week 2

What’s good everyone,

As you know, I’m big on personal health and working out.  I wrote some previous articles on getting in better shape and focusing on your goals. I know it can be hard to work towards them, so I’m going to update you on my personal progress and hope that we can motivate each other to reach our goals.

Right now my current goal is to get my body right by May 8,th, 2009. I’m in the “get over the hump” stage, so I’m grinding out heavy. Here are my current stats

Week 1 Weight – 196.8

Week 2 Weight - 198.8

Difference Weekly - 2 lbs gain

Difference to date: 0.7 lbs lost

Target Weight – 185

Weight Training  Expected – 3

Weight Training  Actual -3

Cardio/Abs Training Expected – 6

Cardio/Abs Training Actual – 2

I take the numbers this week with a grain of salt. I was on vacation last week, and still found time to get my remaining weight training session to meet my goal. I ate healthy as well. One thing I forgot to mention is the proper way to measure your progress. You should weigh yourself weekly, at the same day, time, and way. if you weigh yourself naked on Monday mornings, you have to do so EVERY Monday that same way in order to receive the most accurate numbers. I find weighing yourself in the am first thing when you wake up works best for me, and I don’t have to worry about what I eat throughout the day and it’s effect on my weigh-in. I didn’t get to weigh myself this Monday because I was en-route home, so I took that weight yesterday. This week we will see as I’ll either show a -4lb loss or -2lb depending. Either way, I’m still on tap to be 185 by week 8.

I also got to get this cardio thing down! 2 times a week is unacceptable, as 3 times a week is normal for body maintenance. I plan to get at least 4 times, as I continue to work towards my goal of 6x a week. No excuses, time to make it happen!

I’m looking to do different types of cardio other than the dreaded treadmill. I tried this stair climber. Wow. Much respect as I will never clown that machine again! I got a SERIOUS workout! What’s your favorite type of cardio exercise? Any questions I will try my best to answer!

    The stairs are my favorite cardio workout. I HATE running/jogging. So I usually climb the stairs in my bldg (9 flights). I find that doing a more realistic work-out allows me to stay focused better than climbing the imaginary stairs at the gym. Also, the eliptical machine is a good look as well. It works several muscles in your body at once. I am going to try jump rope this week as I have heard good things about doing that work out. Good luck in your work-out efforts.

    i can’t front PAUSE after seeing ladies reaction to Trey Songz last night when he took his shirt off, I AM BACK on my marathon ish…Let’s stay inspired Streetz!!!

    Elliptical is my #1 cardio. Swimming #2.

    Funny…The more I work out, the more I LOSE weight when I wanna gain…LOL
