What’s good beautiful people!
Taking a break from the many clips and hip hop news(for a second lol) to go back to spitting what’s on my mind. I’ve “kept my ass in NY” as a lot of you suggested after my bouts of travelsituations, and I realize that NY is just as crazy if not crazier than abroad! My life has had a lot of random occurrences which lead me to post em in no particular order:
1) Watching the Olympics is crazy! The Opening ceremony was incredible. 2008 drummers in perfect synchronization. 2008 Tai Chi Masters all flowing in sync. They didn’t even have designated floor positions they just “knew where they had to be in relation to one another, making perfect circles around the floor area.” Crazy
1a) Michael Phelps is officially Aquaman. This dudes flows through the water with ease. That 400m relay was ridiculous too. Some dude from France on the swim team was talkin tuff about “Smashing the Americans because that’s what we came to do”. How do you say “Silver Medal is the first loser” in french? lol
1b) Ladies gymnastics for the US had voodoo or something on them. They had madd mistakes in their routine, but I swear they all are like a bunch of 5’5″ warrior princesses out there! One thing I respect about gymnasts is their upper body strength. You MUST be strong to elevate and lift yourself the way they do. Hopefully they get it together for the finals because China is a PROBLEM!
1c) The Redeem Team for USA basketball seems ready for war. They crushed China by 31 with Yao Ming holding it down for his country. They still play D when they want to though, and they need to play better and execute effortlessly if they want to return the gold home to the birthplace. King James guaranteed a gold. Get that medal player, or people will call you Le-BRONZE James one more time!
2) So last week I helped a friend install a wireless router in her crib. The process itself was like 30 minutes and I informed her(like I will inform you now) that when you have a router with wireless access in the crib, you should put security settings on it(using a password to get Internet access) so that random people can’t use your Internet port(like I do all the time, lol) and slow down your connection. Mind you I made this suggestion not having security on my router(Do as I say, not as I do, lol). So I get home and yesterday I had trouble connecting to my router. I’d get thrown off the net, have insanely slow connections and couldn’t figure out why this happened. Then I realized every Sunday my wireless connection seems to act up. Sunday when people have visitors in the neighborhood… Then 2+2 equaled 4. I immediately put the security on my connection and SURE ENOUGH – back to status quo! I didn’t think people in my hood were hip to technology like that, guess it really is the 21st century! lol…
3) My dude Mike has a independent artist named F.A.M.E. out of Jersey. He put out a free online album free of profanity and misogynistic lyrics. I listened and its pretty cool. I’ll have a review sometime this week to give you my take.
4) Has anyone else noticed that Now in McDonald’s drive thrus and restaurants they post the nutritional information? I think this is a great step in getting our obese country to think before they eat… that’s IF anyone truly cares. I don’t frequent fast food places 24/7 but when I do, if I can avoid the urge lol, I wonder how many calories etc the food contains. When I actually SAW it…wow! Hopefully it can serve as a wakeup call to a lot of us to get in better shape, especially for races(like African American) who are susceptible to diseases such as High Blood Pressure and Diabetes. When I REALLY want a #7 or something, that calorie thing will make me think twice, but I’ll still cop and just try to make it that one “bad meal” weekly.
5) R.I.P Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac! Wow.. What a weekend. How crazy is that though? life is too short for real… We gotta cherish it everyday. They were pioneers in their field and will be greatly missed. Bernic Mac was hilarious. I think I used muthafu*ka 100 times in his memory. Isaac Hayes gave us many hits.. and the Shaft theme and South Park’s chef…classic! LOL. R.I.P once again. Heaven just got talent!

Michael Phelps is the ONLY reason why I even pay attention to the Olympics…Let's see if he gets that 8th gold.And not only the entertainment world lost a great comedian, but Chicago had also lost a king, Bernie MacAnd I'm mad Ebony didn't split the cover between Mac and Isaac Hayes…they fronted on my man.Peace-Chi
