Gettin Out Our Dreams

So,

One thing that I pride myself on is my will to succeed and to diversify my knowledge by learning new things. Every year I set goals on learning a new hobby or skill, reading up on certain topics, and expounding upon other areas in which I currently excel. One thing I’ve always wanted to do is learn how to play the piano. I love the different songs, ballads, etc that can be played. I also love the unlimited potential for improvisation. In my opinion, musical instruments are like a portal to the soul, conveying feelings, situations, perspectives, and producing the backdrop for any place in the world, fiction or non. I was on Miss Info’s blog a little while ago, and she had an example of that improvisation. Ryan Leslie(dude who sings Diamond Girl w/KanYe West) did an improvisation of Lollipop off straight keyboard. Check this out, because dude is NICE!!

Not too sure when I’m going to learn, maybe that will be an 09 action item? Stay tuned…

Go for it! I'd like to learn Spanish…scratch that I'd like to learn how to speak spanish not just read it.

  4. Speaking from 16 years of Piano training, it's definitely a skill (learning any instrument) that makes you appreciate music differently on a whole. But remember – you gotta take the baby steps before you go soaring off into improv :) !!Good luck, Streetz

  5. Well Jeff I'll be the 2nd person to admit it…there is definitely more to you then what meets the eye. Piano…I am impressed. Let me know when you are ready to play that solo.
